Reasons Behind Our Cause - personal stuff

Most of the marketing and community building done on these social site is being done for financial gain - We on the other hand have other reasons pushing us forward in our endeavors. My husband took his own life last year - he was a small business owner who saw his business drop off quickly after Obama was elected. He was in the insurance felid and helped with marketing for other small insurance agents around the country. I am not blaming Obama for my husband's suicide - I am just saying that the healthcare bill scared alot of people for a very long time and it affected his situation - He would look online for answers and spent what little money he had on online marketing techniques that made false promises and brought no return on the investment.   The problem was that there was not an effective way for small business owners to interact with their immediate local customer base using the internet - especially in regards to generating new business. And the convienence of buying health insurance online was too intoxicating for some consumers to pass up. My daughter and I are addressing these problems and trying to build a better future for our community and country - we realize that stopping this is one neighbothood will not be enough - and that the entire country needs an overhaul. We are spending no money - looking for people who are like minded or businesses owners that have a need - and we are not selling anything - we just want to help and feel good that we could do something that might prevent other families from going through what we had to.  We ask that people follow us - watch for the website and the you tube videos to get up - when we get rolling - follow and see if something we are doing can help your area and let us know if it does - also post any suggestions - We have a step by step plan that will get posted on the site - FOR FREE -
Meanwhile I am trying to build folowers so that when the summer gets here Lauren will have a headstart - Wish us luck and count your blessings -
Sincerely - Amanda

3 days into the project ALocalWay

As I have explored the different ways online to get my message out and find like minded people who want to be a part of this project - I am starting to think that the twiiter accounts are full of a bunch of ads trying to sign me up for get rich quick plans - I have connected with a couple of real people and I felt better knowing that it is not automated nonsesne. However - I do not know if we will be getting the correct followers for the ALocalWay project that will be kicking off soon.  I do have the youtube channel to explore as well as setting up the facebook page.  All this just to find people who support local businesses and local businesses owners. It seems like this will be an ongoing headache to weed through the junkie ads.  This does further inspire me to do my part and cut through the junk - I know there are other people who want a clearer path and I understand now why people hate spam. But it seems like you have to play their silly game to get your name out there. I personally think that this frenzy of junkie ads needs to be squashed and I am exploring ideas to clear the path for those who follow after me - or I could just have my daughter do this and risk her running into the "almost" porn websites - guess it's best I keep doing this myself. After Easter I will work on the youtube channel and see if there is better luck there

Small Business Online

I am starting this blog because I feel that the "real" small business owners in America need to be found online - and the solution that is being presented over and over again is to pay for search engine optimization or pay for click ads - I personally do not feel that a large percentage of these businesses would benefit from these types of campaigns and need another solution.  For owners that cannot afford thousands or even hundreds of dollars a month, there are ways to develope a strong LOCAL customer base and help communities thrive again. In the coming blogs, we will discuss these FREE ways and try to keep the internet marketers from taking advantage of desperate small business owners looking for hope.
