Do average Americans stand a Chance?

The average American is sitting at stoplight somewhere sucking down a 32oz special drink  they got from the gas station where they filled up their foreign made cars with overpriced gasoline. They are worried about balancing their checkbooks and tonights baseball game. It is hard for them to put energy into anything other than getting the work day done, getting dinner on the table, and spending half an hour with their kids before getting them cleaned up and off to bed.  After touring my local area I realized that asking the simplest thing of my fellow Americans was not that simple at all. Asking Americans to buy only Made in America products is like finding a needle in a haystack. The more I look - the more depressing it is - and it does not help that there is no one willing to even try this out. People complain about the economy - it is bad - people need jobs - this is true - but we allowed politics and big business come into our country and sell off nearly everything we have - piece by piece. Demanding American products and buying American products - how can it be done without completely turning our lives upside down? And does the average American stand a chance against the oppression of Big business and politics combined? Or are we all doomed to live out the lives that they have built for us?              Am I the only one who cares at this point or is there anyone else out there that is willing to try?
